There are scam artists online who will always profess that you can make millions in stocks, While i do not discount the profitability of the stock market to an educated individual in that field, Does anyone have their own success stories? percents and amounts would be appreciated, along with any advice. thank you! Quick and honest background: I am in my final year of University, studying English & American Literature with no work experience in this field, expecting a 2:1.

After literally YEARS of panicking, stressing, researching, questioning and generally getting nowhere in my quest to find a career path when I finish University, I accidentally stumbled upon a few videos online about the life of a copywriter and what they do as a career. The working environment and ability to work with words has really attracted me to this career as I think it will have what I count as the most important element of any career in abundance - fun! Along with the potential to earn some good money.

Is copywriting considered a career? I see that there is a lot of advice for prospective copywrighters to work with graphic design students/people and create a portfolio together - surely one would be more valuable if you provided the graphics yourself? I have no graphic skills, won't this be a hindrance when searching for jobs or is a knowledge and ability when it comes to graphics not a requirement?

Many other responses have recommended books by successful copywrighters to get started - are these not simply personal marketing ploys to gain extra money? Are they worth the investment?

I have a perfectionist approach to anything I do, so I am pursuing information on this career path with the automatic assumption that I need to be and should be creating immediately selling and first-class ideas just sitting here in my room, with no practice or guidance whatsoever - is this an unfair thing to do? Will it take time to develop these skills and gradually expand my creative abilities? I am sure, or I hope the answer, is 'yes this is unfair'! However, aren't there people who can already do this naturally? How would I get chosen for a job over them?

I just read a post in Spain's loqou web site, someone claims that a marketing company can not serve anyone to go to court in order to settle a petty debt becuase the court fees alone are more and these petty debts can be recovered after one finds a job, most are protected by the jurisdictions of their own EU country anyway.

The person says that a Spanish marketing firm uses a loop hole where they locate a person (through adverts like personals, language exchange etc) then find a flat mate of theirs, serve them using the flat mate as a agent with out been aware.

When the flat mate agrees to accept the documents, he can refuse then straight away once aware that he is been used as the middle person to bring the person with the debt to a small claims court, the person who is been served is usually someone visiting spain, student or passing through, however the marketing company who hires people to seek men online pretending to be single woman, students etc can not themselves serve or they have to appear in court and the Spanish Judge will throw the case out and make the individual (not the company who hires them) pay the court fees, this is becuase they are not legally private investigators or directly working under one or a registered lawyer.

So the post on loqou claims that a marketing company basically offers services to seek out small petty debts like phone bills using min wage paid students dragging both the subject in debt and a 3rd party into a slow spanish cost with a amount less then the price to return to the UK or a bit more knowing the individual once in court has to re appear with the full payment in 3 to 6 months also, this is usually longer then anyone plans to visit, so basically the marketing company is making a living of off trapping petty debts and charging them their time for it.

I'm doing a fashion jewellery business at market stalls and online. I've researched many of my competitors and I tried to do a SWOT analysis of their company and failed a little.

For example, three companies sold a similar type of glass jewellery to mine at £12.00. I did my questionnaire and many said they would pay £12 - £15 for my glass jewellery, how can my price be competitive if I sell at the same price as this competitor? If I sell at £10 for the glass jewellery would I be losing profit? If I sell at £15 would they buy it? I sold some glass jewellery on the market, most of customers did not want to pay £15. Some offer free delivery to purchases up to £20 online, some offer 2 for 1 specials. How can I be different to that? I can't seem to find what I'm doing that's better than them

I have just started a job and I was happy after 11 months of unemployment. My problem now is the following: in my team, I work with a female Project Manger who is 2 yrs younger than me. I have questioned her about her career path because our HR dpt asked us to complete an online Employee Development Plan. She told me that she started at a low level then progressed smoothly: Customer Service, Reception, Marketing Assistant,..., Project Lead and now Project Manager. She is been working there for...14 yrs. She is a good looking person, chic, approachable, controls her image and knowledgeable about the company. People respect her. She married last year to another manager in the same company and she is expecting a child. She has plans to buy a house abroad for holidays. She earns £50k a year, she nicely told me. She replaces the Director when he is absent. I feel that she found the right company or maybe she is the perfect employee! She has never been unemployment!.
Well she looks like the person I have always wanted to be, but it is too late!. I have been struggling professionally all my life, making the wrong choices or being out of work. I also have a strong personality and a...temper! I like this woman but I cannot stop feeling jealous...every day and I feel sad!. I don't know what I will become in 14 yrs! In all my previous companies, I have never felt I will last. I have worked as Project Manager before...for 12 months!. How can I use this jealousy in a positive way? Is it possible now to be like her. I will have kids at the age of 50, no problem! LOL Never been jealous before.

I know a similar question has been asked before, but mine is a bit more specific. I am in a bit of desperation so I will keep this as short as possible. Graphic Design is what I LOVE. I find myself even depressed when I don't have any projects. I want to do this as a part time living, completely freelance. I am not looking to become wealthy doing graphic design, but instead just a little more financially secure. I don't have an hourly rate or locked fees. I let people tell me what they think my time and work are worth to them. People tend to give me much more reasonable offers this way than I previously thought. My question is THIS. Should I continue to just work from my house and continue doing things by e-mail and phone? I would really like the personal interaction with my clients and have an office for them to stop by whenever they feel and be able to talk with me about their ideas. The population in this town is about 6500 -7500 and as this is not a big town by any means. I live only an hour away in any direction from the nearest big towns. I don't even have a lot of clients, but they are loyal ones that is for sure. I have a website already that I use just as an online portfolio because I didn't see the need to make it anything else. I even started a Guru freelance account and was doing some work and marketing there, but receiving my payment from the escrow service they have is like pulling teeth. With all of this in mind (very sorry for the length), should I definetly consider getting a small SBA loan to establish an office to work from or should I just work from home like I have and wait until I move to a larger city to get an office?

(Also, I heard there were grants given to business owners who renovate old buildings into their place of business by updating everything. Any information on maybe obtaining one of these grants would be great as there are a LOT of nice older buildings here that I could use for an office.)

I want to retire and today I am age 62. All I have left is 64 acres and want to keep 4 to fix my home and sell it later. The 60 is bare land. I ran an ad in the newpaper $110 in Indianapolis Indiana for a week got no calls. Craigslist was gettign me 3 calls a day but no buyers just lookers with no money. I need CASH not a contract and I am below market price on the land for example 1/2 is wooded and I saw 60 acres worse than mine sell for $1700 per acre at land auction 4 miles away 3 weeks ago, I would survey off 30 acres of woods for $1500 per acre. If the places I run ads are not working and my price is fair and since people were calling me then there is an interest in my land I feel all I have to do is find the proper place to advertise the land so it sells. But the newspaper i used did not work and online has not worked just alot calls no buyers with money. I have considered drive around Indiana and hang up land for sale flyers? Or do mail outs? Both i tried but very limited and got 4 calls. 2 from flyers at an Amish auction near here held each Friday and 2 from flyers to hunting stores men wanted hunting land. My price is fair and my land is below market and nice location with nice neighbors and I have a fish business that will make the payments. I just want to move far away and have no interest in credit sales I need cash. Banks are not making loans now and the people who wanted my land cannot get money MY question is Where Can I advertise to find a real buyer with money? Realtors have not worked I gave 600 realtors an open listing and no buyers.
